This positioning was the most challenging aspect to the project. The challenge was overcome, says Natural Design s lead designer Leslie Jackson, by building a berm coming in from the side of the yard, creating the needed height for the waterfalls without obstructing the view from the home. The hand-sculpted rocks in this spa project were designed to be large and flat so as to provide plenty of sunning areas where bathers can also touch the water. In addition, the client wanted an "Arizona desert" look and a spa large enough for his family to play in during the day, yet intimate enough to have a quiet, secluded feeling in the evening. He also wanted a waterfall that could be heated, so he could sit under it and get a massage. The spa s eight jets are good for that, too.
