While we in the industry use pool covers to protect children, animals or even adults from falling into the pool, and to help keep the water cleaner and save water and energy, it turns out pool covers have another great use.

Damon Carson, the founder of repurposedMATERIALS, a company we introduced in the January issue for its potential to repurpose vinyl pool liners, distributes used pool covers to serve as shade tarps for livestock, dog kennels or plant nurseries. Thanks to the one-inch webbing grid that runs throughout mesh or vinyl pool covers, they hold up in high winds much better than other shading materials.

There is a diverse selection of products for sale from repurposedMATERIALS. To find out more go to www.repurposedmaterialsinc.com or call (303) 478-6193.
