Pool Pro Takes Texas Primary

Steve TothThe pool and spa industry is generally not considered the cradle of American political leadership, so it’s news when one of our members wins an election.

That was accomplished by Steve Toth, owner of Acclaim Pools and My Pool Xpert, both located in The Woodlands, Texas. Toth won the Republican primary in Texas Statehouse District 15 by a margin of 56 percent to 43 percent over incumbent Rob Eissler.

The district is overwhelmingly Republican, so winning the Republican primary is tantamount to winning the general election, although technically that hurdle remains before Toth can take his seat in the Texas State Legislature on January 8, 2013.

According to a message left by Toth on his facebook campaign website, “We won by over 2,200 votes and took 25 out of 31 precincts. The last 14 months has been quite the ride. We walked in wind, rain, cold and blazing sun on the way to knocking on [the door of] nearly every Republican primary voter in HD-15.”

Diligently working out in the blazing sun to make sure the job gets done? Yep, sounds like a pool professional.
