After 18 years at LOOP-LOC and almost 50 years in the swimming pool industry, Amelia Chiaramonte, Sales Manager for the Hauppauge, N.Y.-based pool cover manufacturer, will retire at the end of this year.

Chiaramonte started her career at Medallion/EZ Do Pools as a receptionist and worked her way up to the purchasing manager’s secretary. The swimming pool industry was now in her blood. Back in the late 70s – early 80s, Amelia went to work for Pool Builder Supply as an assistant to Dennis Murphy and was later promoted to purchasing agent. At Coastal industries in the 1980s Amelia became their first woman sales representative, and in the mid-1980s Amelia accepted a position as purchasing agent for Jet-Line Products and later moved on to work for Modern Comfort pools.

In 1994 Amelia began her career at Loop-Loc, starting out as the Long Island sales representative and working her way up to her position today as sales manager. Amelia has been an instrumental part of the growth of the company through her dedication and hard work.

Throughout her career Amelia’s efforts and commitment extended beyond working hours with her many roles on the boards of NESPA and LIPSA, including serving as President of the Long Island chapter, NSPI in 1985-1986. She made sure that not only did she represent the industry and later Loop-Loc on these boards, but was involved in many programs including one that is very close to her heart — “Kid Swim” — in which she intends to stay actively involved.
