Four new members have been appointed to the Recreational Water Quality Committee of The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals. Joseph Laurino, president and CEO of Periodic Products, joins the RWQ Committee as chairman. Laurino replaces Stanley Pickens, who has stepped down after a long tenure of exceptional service.

Also new on the RWQ Committee are Jeff Boynton, general manager of Delta UV Corporation; Kenneth Gregory, compliance and safety manager of aquatic systems for Pentair Water Quality Systems; and John Weber, manager of quality and technical service for Lonza. These individuals join current RWQ Committee Members James Egan, LaMotte Company; Gregory Garrett, Applied Materials Technologies; Jody O’Grady, Taylor Technologies; David Oxley, Belleair Pool Service & Supply; Shajee Siddiqui, Zodiac Pool Systems, Inc.; Kim Skinner, Pool Chlor; and Roy Vore, Bio-Lab, Inc.

“APSP’s RWQ Committee stands as the final word in the areas of water quality and water treatment for pools and hot tubs,” says APSP president and CEO Rich Gottwald. “Their contributions will be extremely valuable as APSP works toward water quality standards adoption,” he added.

The RWQ Committee provides technical expertise to APSP in the areas of water quality and water treatment. Currently they are revising The American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/APSP-11 2009 (PA) Standard for Water Quality in Public Pools and Spas and will also focus on a Proposed APSP-10 Standard for Water Quality in Residential Pools and Spas.
