Astronaut Scott Kelly just spent nearly year in space. While in orbit, Kelly and his fellow passengers, Mikhail Kornienko and Sergey Volkov, underwent nearly 400 experiments about how people react to time in space, from cognitive performance and sleep, to how space affects our brain structure.

But Kelly was surprised by one of his “findings:” Just how much he missed his swimming pool:

In an interview held while still in orbit, Kelly was asked what he wanted to do first when returning to Earth. Aside from seeing his loved ones, he said the following:

“I’m going to walk in my front door, I’m going to walk out the back door, and I’m going to jump in my pool. I miss water.”

After a long 340 days in space, Kelly returned to Earth March 1. And sure enough, upon returning to home, he filmed this video of his triumphant jump into the pool:

Been a busy couple days since I've been back on the planet and at home. After my arrival, I returned to NASA for a few hours of initial medical tests and data collection as part of the ongoing scientific research of my #YearInSpace. After a long night and early morning, I finally made my way home. Great to be back on Earth. There's no place like home!

Welcome back to Earth, Scott, and enjoy the pool! You’ve earned it.
