HouzzIf you’re in charge of your company’s online marketing, you might have seen a familiar green logo at the PSP Expo. Houzz, the website for home design enthusiasts that boasts more than 25 million users, is making its first appearance at the PSP Expo to show professionals just how beneficial the site can be.

“We’re excited to be at the Pool | Spa | Patio Expo for the first time,” says Liza Hausman, vice president of industry marketing. “We’ve been growing enormously and expanding the professional categories that we work with, so this was a great opportunity to meet everyone in person.”

As we’ve written before, the appeal of Houzz is how it easily brings builders and homeowners together. Homeowners can use the site to find design ideas and hire local builders for their latest project, while builders of all trades can create profiles with company info and project photos. From there, homeowners can contact local pros directly, making it an innovative way to generate leads.

If you’re new to Houzz and don’t know where to start, company representatives at the booth are offering one-on-one consultations to help set up profiles. Those of you who are already active on Houzz can drop by for a profile appraisal and learn some new tips.

We’re now into the second day of the PSP Expo — how is Houzz being received?

“The folks that are on Houzz are excited to see us here, and the folks who have never heard of Houzz before, it’s kind of fun to hear them go, ‘My wife uses Houzz, why are you here?’” Hausman says. “And we help them understand how professionals use the site and the opportunity for them. It’s great to see the light go off and be able to help them get started and see that difference.”

In addition to profiles, Houzz offers a website builder that uses templates for simple setup. Photos from a company’s Houzz profile are automatically imported to the website, which Hausman says saves time and money for busy staff members.

“There’s really something for everyone,” Hausman says.  “We’ve worked on redesigning the profiles to support even those folks who don’t have a lot of beautiful photos. They can show off their showroom or their products and still have a profile that looks good and come up in the directory.”
