Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 APSP Midwest Chapter’s Gold Standard for Excellence contest.

This event, open exclusively to APSP Midwest chapter members, recognizes and rewards pool and spa installations that are both beautiful and designed to accepted standards and construction methods.

There are four contest categories, including inground pool, aboveground pool, custom inground spa and self-contained spa. Details for each category are available in the above links.

Unlike other design competitions, the Gold Standard for Excellence awards emphasize sound construction and attention to industry standards. To that end, all entries must verify certain standards were achieved during construction and submit photographic proof. Entries that don’t include this information will be disqualified.

“We are trying to show the difference between what a professional APSP pool company builds as opposed to our non-APSP competition,” says Midwest Chapter President Dan Lenz. “The goal of this award is to promote well built, attractive, APSP member projects whether they are $5,000 projects or $500,000 projects.”

The three highest-scoring entries of the Gold Standard of Excellence contest will receive a free entry into the International Awards of Excellence contest at the national APSP level. The entry deadline is September 15.
