Dino Prisco Passes Away After 50 Years in the Industry

Dino Prisco founded Prisco Spas & Pools in 1973.Dino Prisco, founder and owner of Prisco Spas & Pools (Yonkers, N.Y.), died August 11 while surrounded by his family. He was 77 years old.

Prisco’s career in the pool and spa industry spanned 50 years, starting shortly after his family emigrated from L’Aquila, Italy in 1957. He worked two years at a landscaping business before servicing and building pools out of his garage. This venture grew into the retail location Prisco Spas & Pools in 1973 and later expanded to its second Hawthorne, N.J., location in 1981. Both locations started selling hot tubs in the 1990s.

Prisco enriched his career by serving as president of the APSP Metro chapter in 1982. Later, in 1986, he became an original member of Carecraft, where he also served as a board member.

“He was definitely a person you did not forget speaking to,” says Prisco’s son Marco. “He cared about his family and adored his grandkids.”

Prisco married Mavis Foley on August 17, 1968. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, traveling the world with his wife, family dinners and, most of all, joking with his grandchildren.
