The Florida Swimming Pool Association has selected Converge Government Affairs of Florida, Inc., a Miami-headquartered government affairs firm with offices in Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville and Tallahassee, to represent the association’s interests before the legislative and executive branches of Florida government.
Converge will support the association’s interest in ensuring policy-makers are well-informed when making decisions that affect the construction, maintenance and safety of swimming pools throughout the state of Florida.
“When selecting a firm to represent the association, our leadership sought a firm with top-level credentials, statewide relationships and a reputation for excellent advocacy,” says Wendy Parker Barsell, executive director of the FSPA. “Based on those criteria and extensive interviews, we believe Converge is the right fit to represent our interests. On behalf of our 16 local chapters and our members in the swimming pool industry throughout the state, we look forward to collaborating with Converge.”

The Florida Swimming Pool Association serves as the coordinating organization for 16 local FSPA chapters. FSPA provides government relations representation on behalf of its members before entities such as the Florida Building Commission, the Construction Industry Licensing Board, the Department of Health and the Florida Legislature.
“Over the past two years, FSPA members and associates statewide have greatly expanded the energy and resources they contribute to our government relations program,” says Brian Kelly, president of FSPA. “Adding a premier firm like Converge to our team increases the value of FSPA membership tremendously.”
The FSPA also provides educational courses for industry professionals, produces an annual industry trade show and acts as a consumer resource for finding reliable professionals in the swimming pool industry.
