Owners of Hayward’s OmniLogic pool and backyard automation system can now enjoy the extra convenience of voice control through the Hayward OmniLogic skill for Amazon Alexa, available on the Amazon Echo family of devices.
“Pool owners today are seeking the ultimate in convenience and Alexa is the perfect complement to an OmniLogic system,” says Dave MacNair, Hayward’s vice president of marketing. “Amazon’s Alexa devices are easy to set up, and using them has become second nature in many households. We believe that many OmniLogic customers will appreciate integrating pool control with their smart home system.”
Once the Hayward skill is enabled, adjusting settings on the pool or backyard equipment — such as turning on and off lights, setting water temperature and turning on the spa — can be done with simple voice commands. Alexa can also activate pre-programmed OmniLogic themes to set up the backyard with one simple command.
Adoption of voice service systems has grown rapidly worldwide since 2015. By the end of 2016, an estimated 45 percent of U.S. households with broadband internet reported the use of services such as Amazon Alexa on an everyday basis to control music, lights, thermostats and other smart devices around the home.
