For over 65 years, Memphis Pool has been serving the greater Mid-South region of the U.S. Like many startups, the company comes from humble beginnings: Owner Roy Reed started the business from his home.
Reed's focus was first on supplying chemicals, equipment and repair services to swimming pool owners. As the company grew, it started building state-of-the-art pools, all while expanding and opening retail locations in and around the Memphis, Tenn., area.
In 2018, Memphis Pool opened its newest location and expanded its offerings to include all things outdoors. The location, titled "Outdoor Living by Memphis Pool," houses high-end grills, outdoor kitchens, basketball equipment and even trampolines — as well as pool accessories, chemicals and other products the company's clientele has come to rely on.
The company's message has always been simple: live life outdoors. And the support they give customers is unmatched. "They make you feel as if you are part of the family," says one customer review. "I would not hesitate to recommend Memphis Pool to anyone."
Memphis Pool has found that reviews like this one lead to referral business, but the majority of its own promotion is done on social media. "Our best success story has been found in our social media campaigns," says John Cobb, marketing and web services at Memphis Pool. The company has a large Facebook following with close to 5,000 followers.
The staff works to market and create fun sales over holidays. For example, the team celebrated Leap Year with its "Leap Into Savings" initiative, giving customers 29% off spas, turboshock and more.
In the years to come, the company will remain a family-oriented business, as many of Roy Reed's grandchildren have trained and successfully joined the family enterprise. "Memphis Pool will continue to successfully meet the challenges of this industry," says President Mark Reed.
