Zodiac Pool Systems Technical Support Team Completes Certified Pool/Spa Operator Certification Program

Zodiac Pool Systems announced that the company’s technical support team has completed specialized coursework and training to obtain the Certified Pool/Spa Operator Certification from the National Swimming Pool Foundation. Under the direction of Chris Mather, customer education administrator at Zodiac and a Certified Pool/Spa Instructor, the 23-person team completed an intensive 16-hour course in water chemistry, testing, treatment, filtration, maintenance, automatic feeding equipment and government requirements.

“The CPO certification both elevates and enhances our technical support team’s understanding of comprehensive pool operations and pool water chemistry – a key factor in the lifespan of pool equipment,” says Lydia Romero, technical support supervisor at Zodiac.  “Every Zodiac staff member assisting with customer relations and answering phones now holds the CPO certification, which will make our team even more efficient in assisting and educating our customers about preventative maintenance measures.”

Speaking of efficiency, the CPO certification also aids Zodiac staff in their dedication to single-call resolution for customers and dealers alike.

“Our customers ultimately want cost efficiency and to prolong the life of their pool equipment,” says Jill Rooks, director of information technologies and customer operations at Zodiac. “Building a skilled team of qualified problem solvers who thoroughly understand water chemistry enables us to provide more complete answers, faster solutions and increased savings to both technicians and homeowners.”

Pentair Named 2014 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has named Pentair Aquatic Systems as a 2014 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for its outstanding efforts in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency. Pentair, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2013, will be honored in a ceremony April 29 in Washington, D.C.

"Pentair Aquatic Systems continues to be a leader in swimming pool industry innovation," says Karl R. Frykman, president, Pentair Aquatic Systems. "Pentair was the first manufacturer to earn ENERGY STAR certification on its pool pumps. Additionally, it was the first manufacturer to introduce variable speed technology to the pool industry, years ahead of any other manufacturer. We are constantly working to develop more products which allow our customers to enjoy the pool lifestyle while being energy efficient."

To earn the ENERGY STAR certification, pool pumps must be at least 30-72 percent more energy efficient than typical pumps. In 2013 all Pentair variable speed pump models and most two-speed models earned ENERGY STAR certification. Currently, 53 Pentair pool pump models carry the ENERGY STAR. The 2014 Partner of the Year Awards are given to a variety of organizations to recognize their contributions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through superior energy efficiency. Award winners are selected from the 16,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.

Cacioppo holds more than 30 certificates in aquatic operation and health and safety and is an NSPF-certified instructor.
