The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals is rolling out a new online, self-paced course for pool and spa retailers called Certified Pool & Spa Retail Professional (CRP).

Designed for those interested in running a successful swimming pool and spa business, the eight-hour interactive course introduces the core principles of pool and spa operations and best practices for sales and customer service. Topics covered in the course include retail housekeeping, retail environment safety, basic water chemistry, pool and spa circulation systems, pool finishes and customer service.

“We are excited to offer quality training programs to our retail segment,” says APSP Director of Education Silvia Uribe. “Retailers are on the front line of business and through quality education we can ensure that we have a more educated sales force that has the tools they need to confidently assist customers and ultimately increase sales.”

There are no prerequisites for the CRP course. Students who successfully complete the course can take the exam at regional or chapter events, or through a scheduled proctored exam.

“APSP is on the forefront of what the industry needs,” says APSP Retail Council Chair Mallory Wachowski. “Retailers deserve quality education and APSP has delivered. Getting your employees up to speed quickly is the key to better service and sales. The CRP program gives your retail team a solid foundation on the pool and hot tub industry to help advance their career and is a gate way to increased sales.”

Students can register for the course here. For more information, email APSP University at [email protected] or call Ana Hernandez at 703.838.0083 ext. 127.
