Northern California’s wildfires have been both devastating and deadly — 41 people have died as a result so far. Jan and John Pascoe of Santa Rosa were almost among them. With t-shirts over their faces to protect themselves from falling embers, the Pascoes stayed in the pool for six hours before it was safe to leave.
