Longtime pool and spa industry veteran John Johnson has passed away after a short bout with cancer at his home in Los Alamitos, California at the age of 74.
After leaving the Navy in the late '60's, Johnny spent his entire career in the pool and spa business. In his early years he worked for Lochinvar, American Products and The Len Gordon Company among others. In the early '90's John founded J & J Sales and over the last 25 years orchestrated sales efforts for multiple companies in the western U.S.
He was also active with the Southern California chapter of the NSPI in the '80's, acting as their chapter president in 1981.
According to his nephew Mike Johnson, "Johnny was an avid fisherman, golfer, reader and an excellent painter. He was also a devoted family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren."
Johnny is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughters Cheri Johnson and Lori Montgomery and son-in-law Brett Montgomery and three grandchildren.
