Early registration is now open for the World Aquatic Health Conference, offering a $50 savings for people who register by June 1. Hosted by the National Swimming Pool Foundation, the two-day event is slated for October 8-10, 2014, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Portland, Ore.

ā€œHelping to make pools fiscally sustainable and improve the safety of those facilities will more likely lead to keeping them open, and keep people coming back for the two things they value most ā€” their health and their families,ā€ says Thomas M. Lachocki CEO of the NSPF.

More than 400 global leaders in recreational water will gather in this intimate environment for an unmatched educational and networking event with the most influential academic, industry and government experts who share the latest scientific advances, innovation and emerging trends. The conference is tailored for attendees affiliated with aquatic facilities, service providers, consultants, parks and recreation, water parks, academia, manufacturers, associations, builders, community organizations, distributors, hotels, government, health/medical, retail and media.

ā€œThere is a broad diversity of attendees and seminars offered, resulting in 57 percent of our attendees returning each year, no matter where it is located. We truly listen to conference attendees as they reflect their experience in the post-event surveys, and we make changes accordingly,ā€ says Michelle Kavanaugh, conference manager.

Last yearā€™s WAHC attracted attendees from 39 states, and seven countries ā€” U.S., Australia, Canada, Mexico, Finland, Poland and the Ukraine ā€” plus the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Attendees will select from over 80 seminars in seven critical topic areas: drowning prevention and fear, facility management, health benefits, public health code, advanced chemistry, new industry technology, and recreational water illness prevention. Four keynote presentations, special conference activities, and a scientific poster session will be available as well as pre- and post-conference events.
