Gottwald Calls For Focused Effort

Members of the pool and spa industry gathered recently in Fort Worth, Texas for APSP’s Industry Summit, where Hundreds of industry CEOs and senior level decision makers, including top NESPA staff and board members, were in attendance. Through the speakers, Q&A sessions, meetings and networking events, Summit attendees were presented with opportunities to improve their companies and the industry through strategic and tactical means.

Perhaps the biggest news to emerge from the Summit was APSP President and CEO Rich Gottwald calling for a 2015 meeting of all associations and member-organizations having a stake in the recreational water industry. Gottwald looks to lead an open discussion about the challenges facing the industry and to determine ways for everyone to work more closely together to find solutions to those challenges.

In brief remarks at the Summit, Gottwald listed some of the many disparate organizations which promote different regions and aspects of the pool and spa industry, and urged an alignment of goals to make their efforts more effective. Although the date for the gathering of industry organizations is not yet set, according to APSP, it will likely occur prior to the start of the 2015 swim season.
