World Aquatic Health Conference Sets New Attendance Record

The 13th-annual World Aquatic Health Conference, hosted by NSPF in Nashville, Tenn., drew a record number of attendees at its recent conference. The conference, held October 19 to 21 in Nashville, Tenn., welcomed 412 attendees, including 158 first-timers. Attendees included representatives from aquatic facilities, service providers, consultant companies, parks and recreation, water parks, manufacturers, academia, associations, builders, community organizations, hotels, government, media, retail, distributors and NSPF instructors.

According to NSPF’s Chief of Marketing and IT Officer, Alex Antoniou, “NSPF offered new incentives in order to reach more people to convey the value and benefits of aquatics. The feedback from both attendees and sponsors was resoundingly positive. WAHC 2016 was by far one of the best we’ve had.”

Best-selling author Dr. Wallace J. Nichols gave a riveting opening keynote based on his inspiring book “Blue Mind,” an examination of the appeal of water and how it can positively shape people’s lives. Organizers hope to continue the momentum into next year’s event. “The science presented helps us draw conclusions and actions that shape the future,” says Thomas Lachocki, NSPF CEO.

The 14th-annual WAHC will be held in NSPF’s home state next year, in Denver, Colo., at the Omni Interlocken, October 18-20.
