Zodiac Pool Systems’ Jandy Pro Series line of variable-speed and two-speed pool pumps are now Energy Star qualified, signifying they meet or exceed the Federal program’s energy-efficiency guidelines. Energy Star is an EPA program that helps businesses and individuals protect the environment and save energy and money through superior energy efficiency.
Jandy Pro Series’ Energy Star-qualified pumps include variable-speed VS-FloPro and ePump, and two-speed Stealth, FloPro, and PlusHP series pumps, for a total of 18 certified pumps. Each pump was rigorously tested and proven by a third party EPA-recognized laboratory.
“We’re excited to have our full line of variable-speed and two-speed pumps meet Energy Star certification requirements,” said Mike Giddens, product manager for pumps and filters. “This gives both consumers and pool professionals a number of energy efficient options to choose from.”
According to Energy Star, certified pool pumps save more than a thousand dollars over their lifetime, pay for themselves in five years, run quieter, and prolong the life of a pool’s filtration system. On average, Energy Star pumps are 30-72 percent more energy-efficient than a standard model.
The newly certified pumps are compatible with the Jandy Pro Series’ Versa Plumb system, a swimming pool equipment set that improves hydraulic efficiency. The Versa Plumb system is comprised of a pool pump, filter, heater, valves, salt system and sweep elbows that have been engineered to work together as a whole system. According to Zodiac, Versa Plumb offers 50 percent more hydraulic efficiency, saves 40 percent in installation time, uses 50 percent less plumbing pipe and fittings, and requires less horse power. The result is significant savings in both energy consumption and utility bills.
