After sharing the winners of the first-ever Truck & Van contest, we were flooded with feedback. In particular: “When is this contest coming back so I can enter?”
Now, in fact — we’re excited to announce we’re bringing the Truck & Van contest back for another spin.
This year, entries will be accepted on a rolling basis through October 1. (If you're planning a wrap redesign sometime this year, this should help give you time to plan and execute your design.) We'll be showcasing entries all year, so keep an eye out!

We will once again have three categories:1. Best Exterior Graphics2. Most Organized Truck3. Most Unique Work Vehicle
Like last year, we'll also present additional awards as honorable mentions.
Criteria:Each entry is judged by the AQUA team according to two criteria: aesthetics and clarity of information. Simply put, do you have a unique, attractive truck that highlights pertinent information in a way that can be quickly understood? If so, we want to see it.
Prize:All winners will appear in a future issue of AQUA.
Tips for Your Entry:1. Tell us about your vehicle. In our entry form, we ask participants to tell us about the vehicle and what makes it interesting. What was the design process like? What were your goals with the design? Was your vehicle customized in any way to make your job easier? Does it turn heads in your community? Have any crazy stories? Adding these details helps your entry stand out.
2. Send us quality images. We’re looking for large, hi-res photos of your vehicle. (No need to hire a photographer, though — you can take some nice smartphone images and send them with your entry.) We suggest waiting for nice weather and taking a photo outdoors for proper lighting and clarity. Note: We prefer actual photographs, not renderings.
No matter how low e-commerce retailers price their products, brick-and-mortar retailers have a big advantage over their online counterparts: the ability to put a product in a customer’s hands before the sale. In fact, according to a report by digital commerce agency Astound Commerce, 73 percent of consumers visit a brick-and-mortar store for that very reason.
Called “Save Our Stores” (or “S.O.S.” for short), the report combines the results of 1,000 consumer surveys with a mystery...
In Part 1 of this story on common pump problems at pool openings (find Part 1 in the February 2018 issue), we discussed causes and remedies of priming problems and what to do when the pump will not turn on. In Part 2, we’ll finish with what to do when the pump starts but then unexpectedly turns off, and when the pump runs rough or just doesn’t sound right.

Pool rails serve an essential purpose in the backyard: to ensure safe entry and egress from the water. But as important as they are, Larry Williams noticed something: In terms of design, they are often overlooked.
“When my parents were building their dream home, the builder encouraged them not to put in a swimming pool handrail because it would take away from the beauty of their yard,” Williams says. “When my mother got older, she was unable to get in and out of the...
