Here's some good news: The hot tub industry has finally regained some of its swagger.
Urgent update: The deadline is just over two weeks away. Enter today!
After sharing the winners of the first-ever Truck & Van contest, we were flooded with feedback. In particular: “When is this contest coming back so I can enter?”
Now, in fact — we’re excited to announce we’re bringing the Truck & Van contest back for another spin.
This year, entries will be accepted on a rolling basis through October 1. (If you're planning a wrap redesign sometime this year, this should help give you time to plan and execute your design.) We'll be showcasing entries all year, so keep an eye out!
RELATED: See the winners of the 2018 Truck & Van Contest!
We will once again have three categories:1. Best Exterior Graphics2. Most Organized Truck3. Most Unique Work Vehicle
Like last year, we'll also present additional awards as honorable mentions.
Criteria:Each entry is judged by the AQUA team according to two criteria: aesthetics and clarity of information. Simply put, do you have a unique, attractive truck that highlights pertinent information in a way that can be quickly understood? If so, we want to see it.
Prize:All winners will appear in a future issue of AQUA.
Tips for Your Entry:1. Tell us about your vehicle. In our entry form, we ask participants to tell us about the vehicle and what makes it interesting. What was the design process like? What were your goals with the design? Was your vehicle customized in any way to make your job easier? Does it turn heads in your community? Have any crazy stories? Adding these details helps your entry stand out.
2. Send us quality images. We’re looking for large, hi-res photos of your vehicle. (No need to hire a photographer, though — you can take some nice smartphone images and send them with your entry.) We suggest waiting for nice weather and taking a photo outdoors for proper lighting and clarity. Note: We prefer actual photographs, not renderings.
A picture might speak 1,000 words, but for a pool builder or servicer, a truck wrap can say way more than that. Why? Because it does the talking when you can't.
Maybe you're working your way through the daily cleaning route, and your bright truck catches someone's eye. The sight of happy swimmers on the truck door prompts a fellow driver to think, "Hmmm, that could be us. And we've got a perfect spot in our yard for a pool…"
Or maybe you're in the backyard servicing...
Spa and pool retailers aren’t the only ones getting beat up by online competition. In fact, most retail categories fare far worse than we do. Few, however, have suffered like the local record store.
There was a time when every decent-sized city across the country had several record stores, but today the number has dwindled. Etail giants like Amazon struck the first blow by selling on low margins and delivering to doorsteps, then streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music...
The winterizing process is different for just about everyone. It can differ based on your geographic location, which can dictate when winterizing season begins, the types of pools you'll service, the maintenance required during the off-season and more.
However you manage the winterizing process in your area, the goal is the same for everyone: protecting pools from damage to the equipment, interior finish, plumbing, tile and structure that can result from freezing...
For some products, form and function can be difficult to marry, and for years, waterslides have largely fallen into that category. While slides add big fun to many an aquatic environment, they also typically rank among the more visually awkward features.
Enter Splinter Works, a British manufacturer that has introduced a line of waterslides that completely reinvents the concept. The company was formed in 2009 as a collaboration between design pioneers Miles Hartwell and Matt...
