CMP Announces Leadership Transition

Custom Molded Products announces a transition in company leadership — the appointments of current Executive Vice President Tom Moore to president, and Co-Founder Dr. William Drury to chairman of the board. Both appointments are effective immediately.

Tom Moore previously served as executive vice president of sales & marketing for CMP. Tom joined the company in January 2015, bringing over 20 years of experience leading cross-functional teams in the private manufacturing sector. His previous leadership roles included vice president of sales at Bridon American Corporation, where he was instrumental in driving the company’s growth in multiple market segments. He has also held positions at ExxonMobil, Cooper Crouse-Hinds and Eaton Corporation. Tom is also a member of the International Hot Tub Association Strategic Leadership Team, which oversees advocacy, research and promotion of the pool and spa industry’s hot water segment.

“With the strong period of growth we are realizing and the many new products we are launching from our recent acquisitions, Tom’s background and experience makes him uniquely suited to build on our strong foundation of success,” says Dr. Drury. “The entire team is very excited to have Tom as our president,” added Dr. Drury.

Effective immediately, Dr. William Drury will transition to chairman of the board at CMP where he will continue to oversee the development of strategic partnerships and the implementation of new initiatives. Dr. Drury is a co-founder of CMP and previously served as president and chief executive officer where he was instrumental in the company’s growth in the recreational water industry. Under his tenure, CMP has been recognized for its growing market presence, strong customer focus and innovative products. CMP has won multiple industry awards, including three top vendor awards from major industry organizations in 2018.

Dr. Drury began CMP in 1989 along with retired co-founder Dr. Charles Li. The idea for CMP originated while the two studied engineering together at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. The company was founded on the core principle of, “Take care of our customers and they will take care of us.” That single statement evolved into six core values including Customer Relations, Loyalty, Profit, Growth, Stability and Improvement. Those core values continue to drive decisions and actions at CMP, including in the recent acquisitions and product enhancements.
