Latham Pool Products, North America's largest manufacturer of swimming pool components, has acquired Pool Cover Specialists National, one of the nation's oldest manufacturers of automatic swimming pool covers.
With the acquisition, Latham's portfolio of pool cover brands will now include automatic safety covers.
“We are very excited about this category,” Latham President and CEO Mark Laven says. “Automatic swimming pool covers are gaining acceptance throughout North America. This is one of the fastest growing categories in the market due to its clear safety benefits, as well as its energy savings and maintenance features.”
Pool Cover Specialists was owned by Wes Mathis and Dave Dalton, who are retiring. Bruce Grogg will remain with the company as general manager.

This is the fifth acquisition Latham has made over the past five years. The company is parent to many industry leading brands, including Viking, Trilogy, and Blue Hawaiian fiberglass pools; package pool brands Pacific Pools, Fort Wayne Pools, Kafko Pool Products, Performance Pool Products, Plastimayd and VynAll pool liners, and Coverstar, Premier, Performance and Coverlogix swimming pool covers.
