S.R.Smith has acquired the pool and spa assets of FiberStars, an Energy Focus Company. The purchase brings S.R.Smith a portfolio of LED lighting and control products, which the company will integrate into its portfolio.
The acquisition of FiberStars provides S.R.Smith an opportunity to expand into a growing segment in the pool industry. “This is an excellent opportunity for S.R.Smith to leverage our integration and product development experience to grow our revenue,” says S.R.Smith President and CEO Rich Laitta. “LED lighting is in demand and we look forward to taking the product line to the next level.”
FiberStars evolved from a fiber optics manufacturer into a leader in LED lighting technology over its 25-year history. The company’s product line includes a broad range of lighting products including LED lights, water features, wireless and smartphone-enabled controllers. The products will be marketed under the brand S.R.Smith Lighting.
