New this year from Pentair is the Master Service Program, a tiered incentive program to reward service techs and retailers who dedicate themselves to product education and training.
“We thought this might be a nice way of enticing someone to educate themselves and become stronger in their knowledge of our products, and also how to install them and troubleshoot them,” says Sue Robach, Pentair national training manager.
The program currently has three tiers: Pentair Service Pool Specialist (copper), Pentair Service Advisor (bronze) and Pentair Service Professional (silver). Naturally, lower tiers have fewer requirements and smaller rewards while higher tiers have more requirements and greater rewards. Once a tech has met tier requirements, they will receive a gift package — for example, copper tier rewards include a Pentair hat and sunglasses. All tiers come with patches that can be applied to a jacket or shirt to advertise status in the Master Service Program.
Pentair plans to expand the program with additional levels this year, including the top level, Master Service Professional.
“We're excited about this next level. It's going to be a lot more difficult, but it should be,” Robach says. “If you're a Master Service Professional, it means you really have to know your stuff.”
